Trans Fat

They raise cholesterol levels and increase your risk of heart disease. But scientists recently found even more motivation to blacklist them. In a new study, women eating the fewest trans fats had a 30 percent lifetime miscarriage rate, whereas the rate for those with the highest intake was 52 percent. Avoiding these fats is tricky - if the amount is less than half a gram per serving, the nutrition panel on the package can list it as zero trans fats. So avoid any food that has partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated oil as an ingredient - especially crackers and cookies.
